Taking Glimpse With Ubuntu

The Ubuntu Linux is a free operating system that has been developed and deployed to the public. Today, Ubuntu is gradually winning its popularity amongst computer enthusiasts around the world and been accepted by novice and professional users. Without any further introduction, Ubuntu has taken its virtue to compete with major operating systems in the market like Windows and the Mac OS.

In fact, Dell Computers–one of the leading computer manufacturers in the world, adopted the Ubuntu operating system and the said company had realized that Ubuntu Linux has the great potential to succeed and steadily provides cost effective and alternative operating system for the new generations of computer users.

Taking glimpse with Ubuntu is as easy as download or request the latest copy of your very own installer at Ubuntu Requesting CD site. In my case, it took only 3 weeks for receiving the package from Canonical. The package contains two separate version of Ubuntu 7.10 (x86 and 64bit) platform. It is worth my time waiting for this package and to my surprise they even included an Ubuntu sticker. The installer has a live session function that runs to your pc without installing in your hard drive. Just pop in your Ubuntu CD and boot to your CDROM drive for previewing what Ubuntu Linux has to offer.

you can also download wubi. Its a unofficial ubuntu installer. Its like vmware and parallel os. What it does is, it install the ubuntu os on a single folder then you can run ubuntu in windows then if you don’t want ubuntu anymore you can uninstall just like a simple app..

on the side note. if you’ll be installing ubuntu, you’ll be needing a fast internet. As most of the apps needed to run some files will be downloaded from the net.
